High speed wire-electric discharge machining tool(HSWEDM)is an unique machining tool invented by China.Although its cutting reaches a much lower precision than the low speed wire-electric discharge machining tool(LSWEDM),it is still used in so many maching areas because of its low price and high cost performance.This dissertation conducts some researches about the keyalgorithmsfor HSWEDM controlling.1.3B code decoding algorithm is used to decode the 3B codes which is inputted into the HSWEDM controller as the maching code.This decoding algorithm can quickly solve the key information for maching from the 3B codes.For example,this algorithm can quickly solve the coordinate of the end point of the line relative to the starting point of the line from the 3B code and it also can quickly solve the coordinates for the arc starting point and end point relative to the center of the circle also the angle of the arc.2.C fuction cutter radius compensation algorithm is to eliminate the cutting error caused by the cutter radius during the actual machining.For wire-electric discharge machining,we use the wire as the cutter so the cutter radius is the wire radius.This dissertation puts forward a simplified C function cutter radius compensation algorithm.3.Constant taper cutting is a very common and important function in HSWEDM.After some transformation,we can find out that constant taper cutting is actually B function cutter radius compensation.We derive the constant taper cutting by referring to thederivation of C function cutter radius compensation algorithm.4.Interpolation algorithm is the algorithm to control the operation of the stepper motor.In the actual processing,the choice of interpolation algorithm is very important because improper interpolation algorithm will makethe stepper motorout of synchronization and greatly affect the processing effect and accuracy.This article explores the biplane interpolation algorithm and it puts forward the concept of "motor feed speed" to ensure the four stepper motors can feed at the coordinated federate,According to this algorithm,we can prevent the stepper motor out of synchronization and other issues.
