In recent years, due to limited resources, the prices of natural fibers (especiallycotton) continue to rise. Because of its superior performance, low price, and can replaceor beyond cotton fiber to a certain extent, new regenerated cellulose fibers have causedwide public concern in textile enterprise. New development climax has been formed. Asa result of regenerated cellulose fibers in many varieties, performance differences,which affected the purpose of product development to some extent. For purpose ofbetter, targeted development of products, the performances of11kinds of newregenerated cellulose fibers and its fabrics were tested and analyzed, systematically, andthe datas of performances were processed by the grey cluster analysis method. We canuse the research results to guide the development of regenerated cellulose products.Regenerated cellulose fiber is the most widely-used and most variety of cellulosefiber. Five categories and eleven kinds of fibers such as lyocell fiber, modal fiber,bamboo pulp fiber, sheng-bast fiber, viscose fiber were chosen as the research object.The crystallinity and cross-sectional of fibers were tested and analyzed. At the sametime the physical and mechanical performances were studied and analyzedsystematically. The data of fiber performances was processed by the grey clusteranalysis method; according to the calculation results we can categorize various fiberperformances. Comprehensive analysis showed that lyocell have better comprehensivemechanical properties than modal and bamboo pulp fiber, and viscose fiber have poorcomprehensive mechanical propertiesIn order to study that the effect of different raw material on the product properties,we used blended or pure yarn respectively to design series of plain, satin weave fabrics.For be compared, each series of organization are the same exactly, and specifications arethe same basically. The mechanical performance, comfortable performance andappearance properties of fabrics were tested, so as to find out the general law that theindividual performance of fabrics changing with raw material variation.With the major performance of different uses and categories of textiles as the basis,thirty-eight series of new regenerated cellulose fiber products which can be used forwearing and bed category fabrics were designed and woven using pure, blended,interwoven and other methods. Depending on the main properties required for differentuses, respectively, the appearance performance, the comfortable performance of wearingfabrics and the mechanical properties, comfortable performance of bed category fabrics were tested and analyzed. And also using the grey cluster analysis method forcomprehensive evaluation and classification, so as to determine the applicationcharacteristic of various regenerated cellulose fibers, find out the general law ofdevelopment application. The results show that:①The appearance performance and comfortable performance are the mainperformance of Wearing fabrics (shirt type). The study found that comprehensiveperformance of bamboo, modal, lyocell regenerated cellulose fibers and a small amountof cotton fiber blended fabrics, and interwoven fabrics are the best. The fabrics haveexcellent softness, drape, moisture absorption, good air permeability, and surface glossbright and better crease resistance, the appearance performance and comfortableperformance are all better, reflecting the properties of different fibers can complementeach other’s advantages. In addition, fabric containing polyester or spandex core-spunyarn has better comprehensive performance; Fabric with high content of cotton has poorcomprehensive performance. From above, it can be seen that the regenerated cellulosefabric is more suitable for wearing fabric than cotton fabric.②The mechanical performance andperformance are the main performance of bedcategory fabrics. The study found that comprehensive performance of pure lyocell, purebamboo pulp, pure modal fabrics, and a high proportion of lyocell fabric are the best.The fabrics have good moisture absorption, air permeability, elasticity, not easy todeformation, strong luster, warm, comfort and durability. These fabrics are suitable forbedclothes fabric. Fabric with higher proportion of bamboo cotton blended has bettercomprehensive performance; cotton fabric and high content of cotton blended fabrichave poor comprehensive performance.The study of this paper can provide a theoretical basis to better and faster developnew regenerated cellulose products, reduce costs, improve efficiency, thus enhances thecompetitiveness of enterprises.
