The chlorine within the blast furnace come from the smelting charge. Iron and steelenterprises burden structure consisit of iron-containing materials(including sintered ore,pellets, natural lump ore) and fuel(including coke, pulverized coal) at presently. Firstly,pulverized coal and coke include the chlorine, however, accelerant used by pulverizedcoal and passivator used by coke also include the chlorine. Secondly, the sintered ore inthe blast furnace spray the CaCl2solution on its surface in order to reduce its RDI rate.Thirdly, some of the natural lump ore used by the blast furnace are soaked by theseawater, so the natural lump ore attached to a small amount of chlorine on the surface.These chlorides are with the charge to enter the blast furnace, and release in the form ofHCl into the gas finally.In recent years, the effect of the chlorine on the blast furnace smelting is graduallyrevealed, mainly as: a large number of chlorine are detected in some of BF slag materials,adhesive materials of dust bag box wall, adhesive materials in TRT leaf, adhesivematerials in hot stove regenerator checker brick. The chlorine adversely affect the blastfurnace smelting, but the erosion of the chlorine on refractory materials has not beenreported, so it is necessary to study the effect of the chlorine on refractory materials, inorder to provide a theoretical basis for a comprehensive and systematic evaluation of thechlorine on the impact of the blast furnace production.Through the study on refractory materials erosion about different concentrations ofHCl, we can draw the conclusion:1) The HCl promote the glass phase transform intomullite and cristobalite in the clay brick, so the HCl destroys the original mineralstructure of the clay brick.2) The HCl promote mullite generation in the high aluminabrick, but the erosion effect is not obvious.3) Due to erosion by the HCl, the cristobalitetransform into the tridymite, to cause the silica brick internal architecture becomes loose,leading to the silica brick bring about cracks.4) There are hydrochloride (C9H11NO3·HCl)in the formation of HCl and other elements of the carbon brick on the surface. Newproducts disrupted the combination of the carbon brick, the carbon brick texture becomesloose. This shows that HCl bring about erosion on the refractory materials at a certainextent, undermine the combination of refractories materials original mineral structure,lead to the refractories materials become loose.Through the study on steel plate erosion about different concentrations of HCl, wecan draw the conclusion: The HCl bring about chemical reactions between steel plate ofthe gas pipeline and HCl, producing iron chloride such as FeCl3, FeCl2etc. The HClmakes the gas pipeline surface gradually fall off, causing erosion of the gas pipeline.
