To prolonging the blast furnace life is one of the most important goals of devoloping the modern blast furnace.The life of blast furnace has great influence on the production order and the overall economic benefit of the iron and steel enterprise.The average life of 1780m3 BF of Guofeng iron and Steel Co.Ltd.is 7 years and 5 months from the operation to overhaul of the BF.There is a big gap between the advanced level and this target.This paper takes 1780m3 steel blast furnace of Guofeng iron and steel company as the research object,This research work is aiming at prolonging the life of BF carried out from two aspects:controlling harmful elements to blast furnace and protcting the BF hearth by titanium ore in later stage of furnace operation.Analyze and research the structure and operation system of the advanced BF to bring forward improvement measures.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The harmful elements such as alkali,zinc and lead in the 1#blastfurnace are all enriched in varying degrees.The serious excess of harmful elements is one of the main factors affecting the longevity of the 1#blast furnace in Guofeng.The standard for the entry of harmful elements was formulated for this purpose.The upper limit of the incoming limit of alkali metals,zinc and lead was 5.408kg per ton iron,0.537kg per ton iron,and 0.125kg per ton iron.(2)It is difficult to avoid the serious erosion of the bottom of the hearth at the later stage of campaign.When the temperature of the side wall of the blast furnace rises abnormally,the titanium ore can effectively reduce the side wall temperature and ensure the safety and stability of the blast furnace at that period.(3)The schedules and ruels should be maked to protect the hearth and the tachnology is promoted with controlling parameters during furnace protection and the adjustment method of external system during furnace protection are introduced.
