Two phase flow phenomenon widely exists in industrial producing process and themeasurement of the flow parameters is of great significance for industrial producingprocess and the optimization of process. The existence of randomly changinginterface of two phase flow makes the flow structure complex and the flow patternchangeable, in which the parameters are difficult to measure. Take into account theproblem of measuring parameters in two phases flow in oil well of petroleum industry, the six electrodes conductivity sensor array is optimized in this paper which cansimultaneously measure the phase holdup and the related speed. In this paper drift model with variable coefficients is used in the logging datainterpretation of five degrees which are0,±1and±3degree, and the phase holdupprediction model is given which can predict the water holdup with the error0.048.Inthis paper the research work mainly includes the following:1. Taking into account the application features of conductivity sensors using inmultiphase flow, and the need to measure the phase holdup and the correlation speed, the six electrodes conductivity sensor array was proposed. In this paper the structuraloptimization of the conductivity sensor was finished using the ANSYS finite elementanalysis in which the sensitivity of the sensor and the linearity was investigated. In theanalysis of the linearity four kinds of flow patterns were simulated using the finiteelement analysis software. The response characteristic of the conductivity wasextracted when the exciting signal was direct current source, and the linearity was animportant index to choose the optimal structure.2. In the logging data interpretation of horizontal and nearly horizontal oil-watertwo phase flow, the response characteristic of the turbine flow meter was analyzed inthis paper, and the relationship between the patterns and the response frequency wasalso discussed. We found that the response characteristic of the turbine flow meterwas complicated when the flow pattern was Stratified Flow and Stratified Flow withmixing at the interface, while the response characteristic of the turbine flow was mucheasier when the flow pattern was dispersed flow and Semi-dispersed flow. Based onthe analysis above three total flow model were set up: statistical model, volume modeland modified volume model. The modeling process, model solution and error analysis were discussed on detail in the paper. Finally we proposed that the modified volumemodel has a high accuracy in the predicting the total flow rate3. Using the response data of logging combination instrument in oil-water twophase flow production profile which had different response characteristic to theconductivity sensor and the capacitance sensor in different flow rate range and waterholdup range, separate phase flow rate model was set up to predict the separate flowrate. In the phase holdup logging interpretation the research focus were drift modelwith variable coefficients and statistical model. For different flow rate range andwater holdup range the logging interpretation model was give, and obtain goodprediction results. In the end the feature of the drift model with variable coefficientswas discussed, and proposed the flow-pattern dependence and adaptability.
