Now, with the emphasis on energy issues, people pay more attention to wasteheat recycling. Automobile waste heat recovery technology has practicalsignificance for saving energy and reducing pollution emissions, ao it has broadapplication prospects.Heat exchanger is an important device of heavy truck waste heat system, and itsperformance has a direct impact on the efficiency of the system. In this paper, selectshell and tube heat exchanger as main form of heat recovery heat exchanger througha comparison of various heat exchangers. And design and calculate tube-finevaporator and threaded tube evaporator. However, due to heavy truck runningintermittently, the recovering waste heat of heavy truck has been limited. So it’slimited to recovery waste heat from heavy truck.Propose a kind of regenerative heat exchanger on the basis of tube-finevaporator and threaded tube evaporator. The performance of storage medium hasimmediate impact for the whole system. Molten salt has high operating temperature,wide temperature range, heat transfer ability, low system pressure, good economy; itbecomes a good choice of storage medium. Use nitric acid salts here.In order to learn the characteristics of the molten salt’s ability of heat storage,design regenerative heat exchanger unit and test the performance of the heatexchanger. According to the temperature of air, water and molten salt, gain heatstorage and heat release of molten salt, confirm the heat storage and heat transferproperties of heat exchanger.
