Enormous interests in metal-organic frameworks by the countries chemists and materialsscientists can be attributed to their structure diversity, variety of physical and chemicalproperties and important applications in catalysis, gas storage, separation and purification, andfluorescence, electrical, magnetic, etc. Therefore, to build novel structure and properties ofcoordination polymers become a research hotspot. Because of the unique electronicconfiguration, the rare earth coordination polymers become an important branch of the rareearth science and technology, but also greatly enriched the type of coordination polymers, hasdeveloped rapidly. By hydrothermal and oxidate-coordinate synthesis methods, a total of sixrare earth coordination polymers were synthesized, two of which are rare earth-organiccoordination polymers and the other four are rare earth-inorganic coordination polymers. Thistext is divided into three chapters:In chapter1, the concept of coordination polymers, current research and its mainapplication as functional materials are simply introduced. In chapter2, use5-hydroxynicotinic acid and oxalate as mixed ligand, rare earthcoordination polymers [Ho2(C6H4NO3)2(C2O4)2(H2O)2]2·H2O (1) and{[Eu(C6H4NO3)(C2O4)1.5(H2O)]·H2O}n(2)were synthesized by hydrothermal synthesismethod. Structural analysis and fluorescence test have been investigated and analyzes theexperimental process affect the final structure of the product by the introduction of differenttype of cations. In chapter3, through oxidate-coordinate synthesis method, based on hydrothermalsynthesis method and introduce a strong oxidizing atmosphere, get four rare earth-inorganiccoordination polymers Ln(O)CO3[Ln=Tb(3),Er(4),Gd(5),Ho(6)]. Structural analysis andfluorescence test have been investigated and analyzes the special bridging coordination modelsof carbonate with rare earth ions.
