Lightweight metallic truss structures are currently being investigated for usewithin sandwich panel construction. These new material systems have demonstratedsuperior mechanical performance and are able to perform additional functions, suchas thermal management and energy amelioration. The mass production of the trusscore structures are currently being imperative. So, this paper gives a kind ofembedded lock assembly technology on metal pyramid sandwich structure, whichcan increase the production efficiency of sandwich panel construction. Furthermore,An experimental,numerical and theoretical investigation is carried out to examinethe mechanical response of pyramidal truss core sandwich columns based on thismanufacturing method.There are two subjects of this paper. First, this kind of interlocking fabricationmethod come up. The fabrication protocols of pyramidal truss sandwich structuresfrom6061aluminum is based on wire-electrode cutting and interlocking as well asgluing. Then,sandwich panels with pyramidal truss cores have been tested in staticmechanical behavior, which includes compression, shear and bending, anddynamical property that is the performance of a low-velocity impact on thissandwich plane based on this kind of preparation method.
