Since1992, some factories in our country began to imitate the Rochetechnology in production of sodium ascorbate. The product quality canonly be lower levels, The main problems are much residues in filtrate andlow whiteness of filtration membrane. So our products can not competewith abroad products in the international market.From the point of production process of sodium ascorbate, Firstlycrude ascorbic acid, microfiltration membrane, filtration time and theratio of water and crude ascorbic acid were studied. Secondly cleanlinesslevel of sodium ascorbate was studied. The cleanliness level of operationunit is improved by installing clean laminar flow hoods in centrifugalseparation process and air filters in dry process. Thirdly the factorsaffectting the appearance were studied and the improvement measureswere put forward for polluted powder, fiber material and metal scrap.Based on transformation of double cone rotary dryer vacuum tube,thefiber material was controlled by “substitution method” and “improvedmethod”, the optimum condition of permanent magnet grille de-ironremover was studied. Sodium ascorbate appearance is improved, scrapmetal adsorption rate reached96.8%. Finally, the applied validation onthe test production conditions were carried out. The results show that theproduct yield was increased by3.7%, absorbance of solution decreased by15.8%,the detection rate of the polluted powder decreased by90.9%,average detectable quantity of polluted powder decreased by96.2%,detection rate of fiber cast decreased by45%, average detectable quantityof scrap metal decreased by97.3%, thereby the whiteness of filtrationmembrane increased by25.8%, meet customer’s requirements(thewhiteness of filtration membrane>92%).By the study on residues in sodium ascorbate filtration: the internaland external quality are improved effectively, and economic benefitreach RMB6.66million by sodium ascorbate production engineeringmodification with a capacity of150ton per month. Sodium ascorbatemarket share of Hebei Welcome Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. reach42%inthe first half of2012. This study plays a certain role for a progressive improvement of the status of China API in the world.
