The light guide plate plays an important role in the liquid crystal display, and the development trend of the light guide plate is "bright, thin, light", so the request on the molding method is getting higher. One of the most commonly method of the varieties methods to mold light guide plate is injection molding, in order to solve the molding of ultra-thin wall light guide plate products, researchers have proposed a new molding method-injection compression molding, it combines two conventional molding methods, injection molding and compression molding. As it can reduce the required pressure, internal stress, warping and molecular orientation of plastic products, so the molding method complies with the development trend of the light guide plate. In this paper, for the injection compression molding of light guide plate, the main contents are as follows:(1)The Pro/E software is used to design the visual injection compression mold based on sequential injection compression and reflective visual observation program to mold the light guide plate products. The surface of the mold core has hemispherical groove with a diameter of200μm, and it is made by EDM.(2)The orthogonal method and single factor method are used to study the molding process of injection compression molding by Moldflow6.1. It gets the influence relation between the product performance and the injection compression process conditions, the product performance mainly include warpage, stress and shrinkage rate. At the same time the ordinary injection molding is studied and the optimum process is get. By compare the two sets of the optimum process, the quality of the product that molded by injection compression molding is much better than ordinary injection molding. In order to further study the difference, the two molding methods under the same process parameters are compared to quantify the advantages of injection compression molding.(3) Based on Orthogonal analysis, the designed mould is used to conduct the injection compression molding. The influence of process conditions on product performance is studied, such as warpage of the product, residual stress, shrinkage rate of the length direction, the filling of microstructure, and the optical performance, and thus the law of influence on the quality of product is get(4)The designed mould is used to conduct the visualization experiment, mainly carried on the static shot to microstructure. It is verified that the visual program can achieve the dynamic visual observation of the filling of the microstructure. According to the visualization experiment, the improvement is put forward to improve the visual structure, it lays the foundation for the future dynamic visualization experiment.
