The liquid storage tank is important equipment for storing water, chemical and refined petroleum products. Because of the need to maintain its functional requirements are still after the earthquake, seismic analysis of liquid storage tank beyond the structure of economic value. The current seismic design method of the liquid storage tank is usually, a liquid storage tank of a simplified model, finite element method and ground motion shaking table test. It is difficult to truly reflect the seismic response of the liquid storage tanks by the finite element simulation due to simplification of material properties. And the shaking table can only complete small scale model tests, the obtained results may quite different with what of the tank prototype. To this end, it is a project supported by CNPC Innovation Foundation (2011D-5006-0604) in this paper, studied a method of the liquid storage tanks substructure shaking table test, base on the Haroun-Housner simplified model, to further simplify the mechanical model of liquid storage tank. The liquid storage tank is divided into the experimental substructure and the numerical sub-structures in two parts. Use MATLAB program to simulation analysis of the liquid storage tank substructure shaking table test.The main work of this paper is as follows:1、Established simplified mechanical model of two particles of the liquid storage tankEach mass is connected to the ground through a beam element that is fixed at the base and free to rotate and displace at the top. Calculated the dynamic characteristics of the two particle model of the series liquid storage tank, get the natural frequency of the liquid storage tank, and calculate the natural frequency and vibration of the liquid storage tank in standard algorithms and finite element, verified the correctness of the two particle model.2、Proposed the substructure shaking table test method of the liquid storage tank and established the principle of the liquid storage tank dividing substructure.Introduce the principle of the liquid storage tank substructure shaking table test, the boundary conditions of the simulation, testing process, the principle of substructure divided into, the method of numerical integration and loading mode. Analysis of the impact of test system with delay, and adopts the mature methods of actuator delay compensate.3、Conducted the numerical analysis of substructure shaking table test simulation of series liquid storage tankSelect the mature Matlab interactive software, carried out1×103m3,1×104m3and1×105m3liquid storage tank substructure shaking table test numerical simulation analysis through programmed. Calculated the base shear amplitude and the maximum overturning moment of the liquid storage tank when the earthquake occured. Compare the simulation results to whole structure and the standard algorithms. The results showed that:the substructure simulation results agree well with the whole structure, base response amplitude is closed to standard algorithms of the liquid storage tank under earthquake.
