Under hydrothermal condition and water solution method, six novel transtion metalcompounds and polyvanadates have been synthesized. We have determined thechemical formulas of compounds by elemental analyses and TG analysis:[Ni(ox)(bib)]n(1)(bib=1,4-bis(imidazol) butane; ox=C2O42-)[Cd(tzba)(H2O)]n(2)(tzba=4-(Tetrazolyl)benzenecarboxylic acid)[Ni(biim)3][V2O6](3)(biim=biimidazole)[{Mn(H2O)2(gly)2}{V2O6}]n(4)(gly=glycine)[Ni(H2O)5(gly)]2[H2V10O28]4H2O (5)(gly=glycine)[Cd2(H2O)10][H2V10O28]4H2O (6)The new compounds are structurally characterized by single crystal X-raydiffractions and IR. In the structure of1, Ni(II) cations are bridged by oxalic acid ligandto form infinite1D wave chain, in which oxalic acid ligand is generated by in-situmethod. These chains are further connected via bib linkers to form two-dimensional (2D)layer. The structure of2contains distorted octahedral cadmium centers coordinated byfour different tzba2-ligands and a water molecule and then formed a novel3D structure.Compound3exhibits a novel2D framework through the [V2O6]2-anion and[NiII(bim)3]2+cation. We select transition metal Mn and ligand gly to synthesize a newcompound4,[V2O6]2-anion is in the framework. In compound5, it is constituted by[H2V10O28]4-anion and [Ni(H2O)5(gly)]24+cation to form a2D framework by weaklyinteracting between atoms. Similarly, compound6is constituted by [H2V10O28]4-anionand [Cd2(H2O)10]4+cation to form a2D framework by weakly interacting betweenatoms.Furthermore, in this thesis the photoluminescence property and magnetic behaviorof1have been investigated. The photoluminescence property and gas adsorptionproperty of compound2have been investigated.The electrochemical properties ofcompounds3-6were investigated. The results indicate that compounds3-6had theredox property.
