The Phthalate Esters are the environmental hormone class pollutant, widely exists in theenvironment and in the food plastic packing material. Phthalate esters, chemical stability, lowvolatility, toxicity and aromaticity,to humans and animals, the general performance of low tomoderate. The Phthalate Esters acute toxicity chips in the mellow base carbon atom numberincrease to be weakening, has the moderate savings function. On the industrial, the phthalate estersis the main plasticizer. With the development of industrial and agricultural production andwidespread use of plastic products, the phthalate esters become the world’s most popular of a classof persistent organic contaminant. At present, the method of determination of material, such as air, water, soil, food and othersubstances in the phthalate esters by GC, GC-MS, LC. For the ambient air and particulates in thePhthalate Esters determination method, International Standardization Organization ISO andAmerican EPA do not have the establishment corresponding standard. Phthalate esters reported inChina in the ambient air monitoring methods are collected on the filter, analysis of the phthalateesters in particulate matter suspended matter or, ignore the determination of gaseous lightcomponent of the phthalate esters. This project is the mandate issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of thePeople’s Republic of China. The project provides for the simultaneous determination of sixphthalate esters——Dimethyl phthalate,Diethyl phthalate,Di-n-butyl phthalate,Butyl bentylphthalate,Bis(2-ethylhexyl)–phthalate,Di-n-octyl phthalate——in the gas phase and particulatematter in the ambient air measurement method by GC, GC-MS, LC.This method as a nationalstandard was promulgated.
