133Xe,85Kr and their isotopes are the leading noble gas fissionproducts generated in the nuclear reactor fission process, and they have βand γ radioactivity. Once released into the environment, they will pollutethe environment. So in the process of nuclear power plant operation andshutdown overhaul, the noble gas monitoring is particularly important. On the nuclear power plant noble gas monitoring, there are basicallystationary inert gas monitor and portable noble gas monitor. because thestationary noble gas monitor can’t be moved, the application of thestationary noble gas monitor is limited to a certain extent; The portablenoble gas monitor is mobile convenient, can play an important role inmonitoring in place or situationon that the stationary monitor can’t work. This advantage make the Portable inert gas monitor widely used. This thesis aims at the problem of few domestic nuclear power plantportable noble gas monitoring instrumentation research, according to thenuclear radiation detection technology and electronic technology, developed the portable noble gas monitor for use in nuclear power plants. The portable monitor for nuclear power plant uses two PIPS detectors, itcan monitor the main radioactive noble gas the nuclear power plant, Thismonitor uses the optimized sampling container for gas sampling, and adopts double PIPS detector to detect the beta activity concentration ofthe places under test. The monitor has advantages of light weight, smallvolume, convenient to move, and wide measuring dynamic range, etc.The monitor can be used to the following situations in the plant: openingplaces monitoring when nuclear power plant overhaul, the dailymonitoring of plant workshop, plant abnormal condition or accidentmonitoring, etc.
