Gear has been widely used in modern mechanical products, especially the spur gear, gearmachining precision directly influence the quality of mechanical products and performance.Measuring the common normal line is one of the most commonly used method of gears’inspection, compared with the circular pitch cumulative error and gear ring radial runout, thecommon normal line measurement is not only simple but also accurate, it has been widelyused in gear production. With the aim to complete spur gear’s rapid inspection andquantitative management of workers’ performance appraisal, this paper designed anddeveloped a set of inspection and evaluation system for spur gear’s common normal line.The main content and conclusions of the paper are as follows:(1) The paper determined the overall composition of the system. The system is mainlycomposed of inspection module and evaluation module. Inspection module contains hardwarecircuit and the PC inspection subsystem. Evaluation module includes the subsystems ofperformance evaluation, quality rewards and punishment, archives management subsystem.(2) Inspection module design. Inspection module was divided into hardware circuitdesign and software design. On the basis of signal processing technology, serial interfacecommunication technology and the chip of LM358, the module of inspection completedcollection, transmission and data processing; Hardware circuit contains signal processingcircuit, RS232/USB conversion circuit and voltage conversion circuit; inspection modulesoftware based on quality evaluation principle of common normal line, it could realize theserial port settings, job number selection, parameter setting, data processing and productquality evaluation.(3) Evaluation module design. The PC software was developed in the environment ofVisual Studio.NET2008, based on C#,.NET, and database of SQL Server2008. Evaluationmodule consisted of the subsystems of performance evaluation, quality rewards andpunishment, archives management subsystem. Based on entropy weight principle, the paperput forward the performance evaluation of algorithm, this algorithm could identify each indexweight coefficient of mathematic model, and gave the model of exact solutions, so as tocomplete the comprehensive evaluation. (4) The system debugging and testing. The paper finished the hardware circuit, systemsoftware and the overall system debugging. After debugging, the paper selected certainspecifications of the gear, according to the steps of common normal inspection to completerelevant test. Results of test show that precision of the inspection subsystem is0.001mm. Thesystem can improve the efficiency of inspection and data processing and complete rewardsand punishments management on the basis of performance appraisal.
