Polyoxometalates (POMs) have been employed as an outstanding type of functionalinorganic building blocks for the synthesis of related compounds because of theircompositional diversity, nanoscale sizes and high charges. POM-based compounds haveattracted extensive interest not only for their intriguing topologies, but also for theirpotential applications in catalysis, medicine, material science and so on. In this paper,thirteen POM-based compounds have been synthesized and structurally characterized by IR,elemental analysis, thermogravimetric (TG) analyses, luminescent spectroscopy, XRPD andsingle-crystal X-ray diffraction. Magnetic properties have been investigated in thetemperature range of2–300K. The text has divided into three chapters which wereintroduced as follows:(I) Three novel transition metals substituted polyoxometakates (TMSPs) weresynthesized by the reaction of K14[As2W19O67(H2O)] and piperazine with Cu(Ac)2orMn(Ac)2, respectively. One novel fifteen-nuclear substituted Sandwich-type POM[(C4N2H92Cu9As6O3(H2O)2(OH)12(B-α-AsW9O33)2]·2H2O (1), two three-nuclear substitutedSandwich-type POMs (C4N2H12)5[(C4N2H11)2Cu3(B-α-AsW9O33)2]·5H2O (2) and(C4N2H10)(C4N2H12)6[Mn3(H2O)3(B-α-AsW9O33)2]·15H2O (3). Magnetic properties ofcompound1have been investigated(II) Four Keggin-based chiral nanoporous compounds:[(dpdo)4(GeW12O40)]·4H3O+·11H2O (4),[(dpdo)4(GeMo12O40)]·4H3O+·11H2O (5),[(dpdo)4(SiW12O40)]·4H3O+·11H2O (6),[(dpdo)4(SiMo12O40)]·4H3O+·11H2O (7) have beenconstructed based on the achiral original materials GeO2or Na2SiO3, Na2WO4or Na2MoO4and4,4′-bipyridine-N,N’-dioxide (dpdo). In addition, one POM-based nanoporouscompound [(dpdo)6.5(GeW12O40)2]·8H3O+(8) and supramolecular compound[(dpdo)3.5(GeMo12O40)]·4H3O+(9) also have been synthesized up on the same originalmaterials but different pH. The research of Keggin-based chiral compounds as catalyst in asymmetric cyanosilylation reactions have been carried out.(III) Four POMs-based polymers have been synthesized using [As2W19O67(H2O)]14- anion or GeO2、Na2MoO4(Na2WO4), dpdo and Cu(Ac)2or Mn(Ac)2. Including one3Dcoordination polymer consists of six-nuclear transition metals substituted Sandwich-typePOMs {Na(H2O)2}[Na8{K(H2O)2}{K(H2O)3}2{Mn2As2W19O68(H2O)3}]·8H2On(10),1Dcoordination polymer contained five-nuclear metals substituted Sandwich-type POMs{Na2(dpdo)(H2O)4}[{Cs(H2O)2}2{Na(H2O)2}2{Cu2As2W19O68(H2O)3}]·6H3O+·H2O (11),and two Keggin-based polymers (dpdo)1.5{[Mn2(dpdo)4(H2O)6](GeMo12O40)(H2O)4}n(12)and {[Mn2(dpdo)4(H2O)6](GeW12O40)(H2O)3}n(13). Magnetic properties of polymer10andthe luminescent properties of12and13in the solid state at room temperature have beeninvestigated.
