The cyano group is valuable in organic synthesis because it can be transformedto a series of functional compounds via hydration, reduction, cycloaddition, nuclephillic addition, hydrolysis and transition-metal-catalyzed fictionalization viaC-CN bond cleavage. Moreover, aromatic nitriles constitute a key component ofpharmaceuticals, natural products, dyes and herbicides. This also was destined to arylnitriles have important applications in human daily life and productionIn recent years, owning to the important value of application of nitrile compounds,a lot of research have been curried out about cyanation reaction. this paper focuses onthe transition metal catalyzed cyanation reaction was evaluated in this study. Thisthesis consists of three parts:(1) the research progress of the cyanation reaction.(2)copper-mediated of the cyanide reaction.(3) copper-catalyzed of the cyanationreaction. In part one, we briefly introduces the recent progress in research on cyanationreaction. In part two, copper-and silver-mediated cyanation of aryl iodides usingDDQ as cyanide source was described, which represents a facile and tolerates a seriesof functional groups. In part one, we reports the copper-catalyzed cyanation of aryliodide with the combined cyanide source of urea and DMSO, the report not onlyexpands the safe and cheap cyanide source for the cyanide reaction, and the reactionsystem is simple.moreover, the preliminary mechanism was investigated.
