Ag-4Cu-0.3Ni-Ce alloy has been widely used as the most popular electricalmatierals of silver alloys due to its high strength, good electrical conductivity. Theearlier reserch on silver alloys are focusing on both the effect of RE elements in theas-cast or rolling alloys and the strenthening mechanism of RE elements in silveralloys. But neither the the shape or size distribution of the second phase containing Rein treated alloy nor the effect of RE elements on performance has being studed.The present study investigate the influence of different solution and agingtreatment of Ag-4Cu-0.3Ni-Ce alloy on microstructure,microhardness,latticeparameter and the corrosion behavior in3.5%NaCl. The result exhebiti as follows:On microstructure aspect, the second phase of Ag-4Cu-0.3Ni-Ce was disperse inthe form of circle after solution treatment. Comparing to the solution time, thesolution temperature is more helpful on dissolution of second phase. There are manymore twin crystals in the matix of the Ag-4Cu-0.3Ni-Ce alloy treated in high solutiontemperature(720℃、740℃、760℃)than Ag-4Cu-0.3Ni and the crystal of latter one ismore thinning. With the raise of temperature in aging treatment,the tiny precipitationcome to appear in the matrix. Adding the Ce element in Ag-4Cu-0.3Ni helps topromote the growth of precipitation and the growth of grain with increasing of agingtime under high aging temperature(420℃、450℃、480℃) is controled.The lattice parameter fall quickly in the initial stage of solution treatment.Closing to the Eutectic temperature,the increasing speed of the solid solubility slowsdown; further increase of solubility can be made by adding the Ce element.Comparing to the Ag-4Cu-0.3Ni after solution treatment, the microhardness ofAg-4Cu-0.3Ni-Ce is lower and it decrease steady with the grow of solutiontemperature. In the initial aging stage,the microhardness of Ag-4Cu-0.3Ni alloy boost.Both enhencing the aging temperature and adding the Ce element can make theoveraging appear ahead of time. The microhardness of Ag-4Cu-0.3Ni-Ce alloy afteraging treatment is slightly higher than Ag-4Cu-0.3Ni alloy. The corrosion resistance of Ag-4Cu-0.3Ni afer aging in low temperature(360℃、390℃) change greatly in different aging time,but that of Ag-4Cu-0.3Ni aging in hightemperature is less impacted by aging time. The corrosion resistance ofAg-4Cu-0.3Ni-Ce alloy after aging treatmentis totally less affiliated to the aging time.After aginged in low temperature,the corrosion resistance of Ag-4Cu-0.3Ni-Ce alloyhas little correlate with aging time but it reduce slightly compearing to Ag-4Cu-0.3Ni;the corrosion resistance of Ag-4Cu-0.3Ni-Ce alloy after aging in high temperature hasbeen rised than low temperature..
