Catalyst charcoal flame retardant of polyolefin mainly by catalytic dehydrogenation, aromatization and carbonization reactions to change the cleavage pathway of lolyolefin, which is having the less added amount, the more stable structure of generated carbon and catalytic the polyolefin into carbon’s features. In recent years, as increase of people’s awareness of environmental protection, the low dosage halogen-free flame retardants arouse the attention of scientist, the catalytic flame retardant system has become one of the main research direction of future retardant. On the basis of the preliminary work, this thesis research the collaborative flame retardant of charcoal catalyst and intumescent flame retardant. The specific contents are as follows:(1) Add Ni/Mo/Mg catalyst in (PE) polyethylene. The optimum molar ratio of Ni/Mo/Mg is filtered through which PE is high efficient transform into char by adding serious of Ni/Mo/Mg catalyst of which the optimum adding amount is5%, and the molar ratio of the best catalyst is7/0.1/1. The carbonization mechanism of the Ni/Mo/Mg catalyst is preliminary discussions by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. And then the effect of Ni/Mo/Mg catalyst on the properties of combustion and thermal stability of PF by cone calorimeter and thermal gravimetric analysis. The result shows that the heat release rate, total heat release rate and total heat release of PE adding5%Ni/Mo/Mg catalyst is great low than pure PE.(2) The synergy effect of Ni/Mo/Mg catalyst as synergist with the intumescent system was investigated by adding Ni/Mo/Mg catalyst into the PER+APP and CFA+APP. The flame retardant property of composite was analyzed by vertical combustion test. The result implies that the level of oxygen index and vertical combustion of intumescent system are improved by adding Ni/Mo/Mg catalyst. And the thermal stability of the composite is further analyzed by thermal-gravimetric analysis. The structure of char from PE was characterized by SEM.
