Qingdao is one of the cities that are short of water in China. The water shortageand water pollution has seriously affected the economic and social development ofQingdao. The Dagu River basin is one of the important water source area ofQingdao, assuming40%of the output of supplying water in the urban area ofQingdao and50%of Jimo and Jiaozhou city, known as the mother river of Qingdao.In this paper, considering existing and planned water project, a2D groundwaterflow model is developed to evaluate groundwater of the Dagu River pains. We builta conceptual model of this area, conceptualize the aquifers to unconfined aquifers,build groundwater flow model using the groundwater modeling software VisualMODFLOW, divide the research region into49×19square grids, each length ofwhich is1km. Using the data of2009-2010, the flow field and the groundwaterlevels of56typical monitoring wells were simulated, and build the groundwaterflow model of this area. Based on the groundwater balance analysis of the modelingperiod, the result indicates that the underground water level will not reach thewarning water level in the condition of present exploitation, and there’s moreallowable exploitation. The exploitation is11962×10~4m~3/a when the undergroundwater level reaches the warning water level,3709×10~4m~3/a more than the presentexploitation. The allowable exploitation will be19908×10~4m~3/a when the rubberdams are built, indicating that the construction of the rubber dams will increase thesupplementary amount of groundwater and water resource of the area.Water quality model is established on the basis of the amount of water model.It’s used to simulate the nitrate content of groundwater in the study area fromSep.1st,2010to Sep.1st,2018, the forecast results in status quo fertilization cases isthat in most parts of the study area, nitrate concentrations in groundwater will be larger, water quality changes deterioration, in the Nancun and southern LigeZhuang the nitrate concentrations will be smaller, water quality changes for thebetter. The water quality in most of the study area will not up to standard for drinkalready, water pollution control need to vigorously carry out.
