The21st century is marine century,our country which is a maritime power has a longcoastline. Ocean is closely related to human survival, however, ubiquitous pollution in marineenvironment threatens the health of human beings. The spilled oil on the surface of water is one ofthe main factors causing marine environment pollution. Real-time and reliable detection of spilledoil can make the related departments timely response,make the pollution to wildlife and theenvironment be in its control before widely damage,and minimize oil spill pollution. It is of greatsignificance for the protection of marine ecological environment and the benefit of human society.This topic will use ultraviolet fluorescence method to monitor the oil on the surface of water.While conducting the thorough research to the principle of fluorescence, constructing the watersurface oil detection device from the two aspects of optical and electronic control, Through lots ofexperiments and spectral analysis to realize optical device choice, applying STMicroelectronicsSTM32F207which has Cortex-M3core as the master control chip to implement high speed dataprocessing, so that improve the automation level of the system.The main content and the specific implementation of this paper includes:(1) The detailed analysis to all kinds of detection method about the oil on the surface of thewater, and focusing on the research and analysis to the basic principle of the ultravioletfluorescence method, so that obtain the feasibility and its advantages of this method.(2) The building of the fluorescence detection system: mainly includes the optical path designof the system, and the design of the control circuit. The optical path design of the system mainlyincludes the selection of excitation light source, the selection of photomultiplier tubes, and theselection of filter, etc.; The design of the control circuit mainly includes the control circuit of thepulse xenon lamp and the control circuit of the photomultiplier tubes, AD/DA operationalamplifier circuit, and a communication module connecting to the next part and so on.(3) The software programming and debugging of the system: the software programming partmainly includes the program implementation of the each modules, and the softwareimplementation of the overall functions finally;the software debugging part mainly includes thehardware debugging of the each modules and the function realization of the hardware debuggingof the whole system and gives the corresponding diagram of the overall system debuggingprocess. (4) The analysis of the experimental data: including the three dimensional analysis on thedata obtained from experiments through MATLAB, to find out the relevant laws, and to make thesoftware convenient to determine.
