Gasoline production is blended with several different blender feedstocks, feedstocks can be blended out of tanks or directly from upstream on-line pipeline. In order to meet the more strictly regulations and standards, and to gain higher production efficiency and economic benefits, on-line blending, the key of which is on-line analysis for all kinds of properties, is becoming the main method for gasoline blending in China. Vapor Pressure, which is one of the properties mentioned above, reflects the volatility of gasoline and affects the engine performance. However, there isn’t any acknowledged on-line test method for the property. Compared current test methods for vapor pressure, and aimed for the on-line determination for vapor pressure, we finished developing an on-line detector for vapor pressure. In the process of the development, we finished the work below:Firstly, based on the Reid test method, which is required by the national standard, an on-line test method is put forward for the determination of vapor pressure. The test method is composed of four parts, which are automation determination of vapor pressure, on-line sampling, temperature constant water bath, and automation control system. Equivalence of the method with Reid test method is analyzed in the present work.Secondly, an on-line detector for vapor pressure is designed and manufactured. Experiments are carried to check the performance of the detector and to analyse parameters that affect the determination. Results show that the performance of the detector meets the requirements of the national standard; the vapor pressure increases with the increase of temperature; residual sample leads to the low of test value.Thirdly, compared several models for predicting the vapor pressure, a new model is put forward. Experiments are carried to analyze these models, results show that, considering the predictive accuracy and complexity of algorithm, the new model can be chosen to predict vapor pressure.
