In this paper, the phthalic acid esters(PAEs) of major bodies of water and sediment of typical alternate water source in south China were analyzed, and studied and analyzed the concentration lever and distribution characteristics of the PAEs in the research area, and discussed the health risk and the possible sources of PAEs in the environment.Phthalic acid esters (Phthalstes) is one of the most important plasticizers, referred to as "PAEs", since it’s degradability and usage, it widely exists in the environment (water, soil, air, plants and animals in vivo). A surfeit of PAEs in humans and animals have certain acute toxic effect, and achieving a certain concentration the Carcinogenic, mutagenic and teratogenic effect is more obvious; The endocrine system of humans and animals (especially reproductive system) is more obviously influenced on the development and function, e.g.causing endocrine disorders, immune function decline, inducing cancer (e.g., breast cancer in women), especially the most severe effects on male reproductive function.Applicating the phthalic acid esters (PAEs) pretreatment method and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry-mass spectrometer, analyzed the concentrationin of sand reservoir altogether and water in reservoir area and upstream tributaries of phthalic acid esters (PAEs) in water content. In the wet season,Σ PAEs levels of the reservoir water in the range of1735-3032ng/L, the average content of2535ng/L, including monomer phthalate (2-ethyl hexyl) ester (DEHP) content is6321118ng/L; In upstream tributary water Σ PAEs levels in the range of1256-23761ng/L, the average level of10369.24ng/L, the DEPH of monomer content in the range of369-12807ng/L, the average content of; The DEHP content in the range of1150~22496ng/g, the average content of8902ng/g. In the low water period, Σ PAEs levels of reservoir water in the range of2858~57617ng/L, the average content of27492ng/L, including monomer DEHP content in the range of2667ng/L~54972ng/L, the average content of26089ng/L; The Σ PAEs levels of upstream tributary water in the range of2151ng/L~58462ng/L, the average content of31370ng/L, the DEPH of monomer content in the range of1442ng/L~54471ng/L, the average concentration of27880ng/L. Reservoir sediments Σ PAEs levels range between1257~27871ng/g, the average content of10570ng/g, including monomer DEHP content in the range of1150~22496ng/g, the average content of8902ng/g.With sand reservoir area and upstream tributaries to the plentiful water season water bodies of water and sediment in the seven main phthalic acid esters (PAEs) monomer correlation analysis, concluded that the water source of seven basic consistent, mainly is the DEHP. Sediment PAEs also showed a good correlation, mainly DEHP monomer.Using USEPA framework for evaluating the environmental health, environmental health risk assessment calculated:at present, with the sand reservoir and its upstream water phthalates in environmental health risk are not overweight. Among them, the water DEHP has the highest risk of cancer, its potential environmental health risk is a concern.
