After raw material was broken and choose in the mine production process, the waste remaining as sediment is tailings. Tailings will be wasted and produce environmental pollution when they are abused.. Therefore earth-rock dams will be built in some valleys or low-lying areas for tailings repository.The tailings will be discharged into this depot, The repository was called tailings.Tailings dam is in the earth and rockfill dam which are built in a valley or low-lying areas.The tailigs dam is an important part of the tailings. As the mine products a large number of tailings every year,the tailings dam will become more and more higher.The tailngs dam is a high potential energy of man-made debris flow hazards.At present, The major accidents are occurred frequently in mining and trading enterprise in China. Especially in recent years, the accidents of tailings dam has caused many casualties and property losses. The tailings and tailings dam safety status has attracted more attention from the whole society.On the view of the current status of tailing dam, I participated in project which was admitted by the department of public relations in Shanxi Province-the design tailings dam safety monitoring and warning system based on ZIGBEE technology. My research work is monitoring the tailings dam’s saturation line.The main factors that affects the safety of tailings dam are dam constitutes material and seepage conditions. Seepage might cause leakage, piping effect, landslide and even endanger the whole tailing dam. According to many tailings dam collapse accident and theoretical engineering examples probides a large number of research statistics, among many factors that affects the tailings dam safety and stability of the impact of many factors, the location of the dam seepage infiltration surface is one of the most vital factors.The number of saturation line detection methods in tailings dam at me and abroad are above20.The common applications on saturation line detection include the Electric survey with short spacing electrodes,Transient Electro-Magnetic Sounding, frequency tracer method, Ground penetrating radar distributed, optical fiber temperature monitoring technology,The Transient Electro-Magnetic Sounding is simple, but its measuring result isn’t satisfy for the demand,The analysis of method tracer ang the method measurement ’are complex, Ground penetrating radar very susceptible to tailings dam,but eht environment of the taildings will make it produce wrong result distributed optical fiber temperature monitoring technology is stll on expweiment.Cmpare to the several detection methods above, we use the Electric survey with short spacing electrodes for the detection tailings dam saturation line position detection, this method has some advantage such as the high resolution, less cost.Its application is very extensive. But the cycle measurementand the time of data processing is longer.For improving the measuring accuracy of the Electric survey with short spacing electrodes,in this paper, the related factors affecting of soil resistivity. In order to simplify data processing and reduce the measurement time ofElectric survey with short spacing electrodes method, we redesigned the high-density electrical method of hardware and softwar., on the other hand we study he change law of between the soil resistivity and it’s phreatic line.
