With the progress of science and technology and resources to make full use of all kinds of mineral processing will be more and more fine.However,when the particle size of tailings dam is getting smaller and smaller,the permeability coefficient of tailings dam will become smaller and smaller.Under the condition of flood,fine grained tailings dam is more likely to be damaged due to seepage problem.Therefore,it is very important to study the seepage stability of fine grained tailings dam.On the basis of a fine grained sand tailings dam in Hunan,the conventional laboratory test and numerical simulation of seepage stability of tailings dam are carried out.The main contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)the construction material test has been carried out on the routine laboratory showed that in a certain range of void ratio is linear with the permeability coefficient;in the saturation line within a certain range of fine tailings tailings dam depth with void ratio increases,to ensure the safe operation of the tailing dam from the view of tailings dam material pore ratio range: 0.309 ~ 0.252.(2)the seepage analysis of tailings dam by finite element software,the research indicates that the tailings dam saturation line of tailings dam material and void ratio,permeability coefficient ratio,reservoir water level,the initial dam seepage ability and other factors,and put forward the measures to reduce the dam seepage line.(3)using Fellenius method,Bishop method and Janbu method of the tailings dam in different water level conditions of seepage stability analysis,and the different water conditions of seepage stability of the early warning analysis showed that the level of H in 59 M ~ 60 m,does not meet the requirements of the normal working conditions of the operation then said the yellow warning,may occur when the water level in the general accident;H 60 m ~ 61 m,the stability coefficient of the minimum of 1.086 does not meet the requirements of flood operation conditions,namely orange signal warning flood conditions that may occur a large accident.
