The chemical components of the extraction, extracted by petroleumether from Salvia scapiformis Hance var.hirsuta Stib, have been studied inthis dissertation. The work is composed of two parts:1. Air-dried and powdered aerial part of S. scapiformis Hance (3.75kg)was extracted with75%ethanol every ten days for three times. Underreduced pressure, the ethanol was removed. The residue (0.96kg) wasobtained. The residue was suspended in water and then extractedsuccessively with Petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate and n-butanol.Four corresponding fractions were got. They were27.8g,4.9g,25.6g and8.6g. Six compounds were isolated and purified from petroleum ether partthrough by chromatography of silica gel column, thin layer chromatography(TLC) of preparation and recrystallization technique. Based on meltingpoint, spectral methods (infrared, mass spectrometry,1H and13C nuclearmagnetic resonance) and some chemical methods and in contrast to datareported in references, these compounds were identified as n-Nonane (1),methyl heptadecanoate (2), Tetradecanoic Acid (3),(22E)-Ergosta-5,7,22-trien-3-beta-ol (4), Hexadecanoic acid (5),3β,24-dihydroxy-olean-11,13(18)-diene (6). All compounds were isolated from this plantfor the first time. 2. The chemical components of S. scapiformis Hance of petroleumether had been studied by means of gas chromatography mass spectrometry(GC-MS). With the help of NIST retrieval system and mass spectra,53peaks and46kinds of compounds have been identified. In order to detectthe fatty acids of that part, the components were methylation of petroleumether part and were studied by means of GC-MS again. This part containedsome fatty acids with high percent, such as: Anti-9-octadecenoic acid(19.94%), linoleic acid (11.26%), octadecanoic acid (4.38%) and4-hexadecyl valeric acid (4.11%), also contained fatty acids with low percent, such as:15-methyl-11-hexadecenoic acid (0.31%),10-heptadecenoicacid (0.50%),14-methyl-hexadecanoic acid (0.44%),2-methylhexadecylene acid (0.46%) and (E)-9-dodecylene acid (0.49%), etc.The components extracted with petroleum ether from S. scapiformisHance, have been comprehensive systematically studied in this dissertation. The chemical components of the extraction part were first analyzed bymeans of GC-MS.
