In order to meet the low viscosity of epoxy acrylate resin requirements of paint offood cans, this article first synthesized a epoxy terminated pentaerythritol epoxy ether,which was synthesized by esterification reaction between epoxy resin E-51andpentaerythritol in the presence of a catalyst, the reaction conditions were studied.The results show that: under the condition of temperature:95°C, n (pentaerythritol,)/n (E-51):0.15/1, the reaction time:2.5h, a low viscosity of1.55Pa.s epoxy groupterminated pentaerythritol epoxyethers was obtained, the structure of the resultingproducts were characterized by IR spectrum.Then esterification between epoxy groupterminated pentaerythritol epoxyethers and acrylic acid was carried on,unsaturateddouble bond was introduced in pentaerythritol epoxyethers. The optimum reactionconditions: The reaction temperature:85℃, reaction time:6h, a low viscosity of1.62Pa.s pentaerythritol epoxy acrylate was obtained, the structure of the resulting productswere characterized by IR spectrum.The influence of different doses of electron beam curing to physical properties andgel content of cured film by pentaerythritol epoxy acrylate synthesized was studied. Theoptimum radiation dose for curing film is5kGy. The performance of the coating filmwas tested, the results show that: the drying time:1s;the pencil hardness:3H;impact resistance:50cm;adhesion:0class;flexibility:2mm;acid resistance (5%H2SO4):180d unchanged;alkali resistance (5%NaOH):216d unchange;Salt waterresistance (5%NaCl):250d unchange.This article compares the physical properties and chemical properties of film curedrespectively by EB and UV, the results show that:the physical properties of film curedby two methods is almost the same,however,the chemical properties film cured by EBwas better,and the curing time taken is only1/30of curing by UV.
