Mold is the infrastructure of industrial production.Mold technology is animportant symbol about a national industrial level, which determines the productquality, efficiency and design capability of new products. Many colleges and researchinstitutes set up mould courses to cultivate professional mould talents. Experimentalteaching is an important part in mold teaching courses, but due to the constraints ofteaching, not all institutions can be equipped with complete mold equipment.Mold teaching experiment should adapt to the development of mould technology, but the traditional experiment teaching has been unable to adapt to the development ofmould technology. So, we put forward the idea of "virtual experiment system", takingthe small gasoline engine cylinder body casting mold example, a mold virtualdisassembly and assembly experiment system based on Web is constructed withCult3D and other related soft tools. It overcomes the discomfort of traditionalexperiment, and has got good effect in practical applications. There are mouldknowledge structure, virtual experiment, operational guidelines, and web links—fourparts in this system. Virtual experiment include motion animation experiment,die-casting filling experiment, assembly experiment. Based on the motion animationexperiment by UG movement simulation module, we can analyze the motion law, speed, acceleration and stress distribution of the mechanism in motion. Based on thedie-casting process simulation by AnyCasting software, we can analyze temperaturefield, flow field and pressure field distribution of liquid in the die-casting process. Wecan also analyze the distribution location of shrinkage defects after solidification.Based on the disassembling experiment by Cult3D software, it provides Cult3Dvirtual scene viewing and interactive control and operation based on the mouse.
