With the progress of human society, people have more in-depth understanding of energy and the environment. Nowadays, environmental protection has become the core of the energy development strategy of countries all over the world. Direct ethanol fuel cells have become the hotspot of development and research because of high efficiency, environment friendly, abundant raw materials and other advantages. But the key to its commercialization is the development of ethanol oxidation catalyst which has high catalytic activity, the performance of resistance to CO poisoning and low price. This paper has prepared two kinds of concerted catalysis materials of Pt/C electrode. The effect of the performance on Pt/C electrode for ethanol electrocatalytic oxidation adding the filling materials has been studied.The material of NH4N1PO4·H2O was synthesized by solid state reaction at low temperature using ammonium dihydrogen phosphate and nickel acetate as raw materials and PEG-400as a template, adding a few sodium hydroxide. The optimum reaction condition was researched by using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and cyclic voltammetry (CV), and the product was characterized by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FT-IR) and thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA). It is easy to gain perfect crystal material when the reaction time is4hours, the reaction temperature is70℃and the weight of nickel acetate is4times of the weight of sodium hydroxide. The product was applied to making electric catalytic electrode, and the research showed that glassy carbon base Pt/C/NH4NiPO4electrode had better electro-catalytic activity, compared with graphite base Pt/C electrode and graphite base Pt/C/NH4NiPO4electrode. The glassy carbon base Pt/C/NH4NiPO4electrode has the potential to replace other electrodes for ethanol electrocatalytic oxidation, as it has the characteristic of large oxidation current in an instant, low oxidation potential and certain electric capacity.The heptamethyltrisilanol polyhedral oligameric silsesquioxane (Seven poly POSS) was synthesized by using direct silane hydrolysis and condensation with trichloromethylsilane as raw materials. The research showed that the optimum reaction conditions were as follows:reaction time,36hours; amount of raw materials, volume ratio of silane and water,8:25; reaction temperature,60℃. The yield can reach more than90%under these conditions. The characterization of product was analysed by XRD, FT-IR, SEM, and TG-DTA. And the glassy carbon based Pt/C/POSS composite electrode was made by taking POSS as the concerted catalytic material of electrode. The results showed that the oxidation potential of electrode electrocatalytic oxidation of ethanol and methanol were reduced because of the concerted catalysis of POSS. Seven poly POSS is a potential concerted catalytic material of high quality electrode on the electrocatalytic oxidation of small organic molecules.Experimental research shows that the Pt particles can be more exposed on the electrode surface, the electric catalytic reaction interface area and the electrode catalytic properties can be increased because of the two kinds of concerted catalytic materials in this paper. Especially the characteristics of the glassy carbon base Pt/C/NH4NiPO4electrode rapid electrocatalytic oxidation of ethanol and glassy carbon based Pt/C/POSS composite electrode rapid electrocatalytic oxidation of ethanol and methanol will provide a theoretical reference for the applications of electrode in fuel cells and biomedicine.
