Rotary electronic dobby is the textile machinery and equipment to achieve productionprocess automatic control by applying microcomputer data procession function, widely used ina variety of new looms. Its performance directly affects the production efficiency andeconomic benefit of loom. Electronic dobby heald selecting system is the signal executionsystem that orderly control heald frame motion by controlling electromagnetic information.This article launches the research of structure and motion process of the heald selecting system.It is important for dobby to achieve efficient quality control of the loom opening.This paper first described the rotary electronic dobby operating principle and itscomponent module function, focusing on analysis of the operating principle of heald selectingsystem and the cooperation principle with looms. Based on the Pro/E and the Auto CADsoftware, the2D drawing and3D model of heald selecting system were drawn. According tothe relationship between the various parts,2D and3D assembly drawings of heald selectingsystem were drawn. The completing works provided the foundation necessary work forkinematic analysis of heald selecting system and simulation exercise of heald selecting cammechanism in rotary electronic dobby.Secondly, through analyzing the principle of heald selecting system level signal actuatorin rotary electronic dobby, established the mathematical model of the electromagnet, derivedelectromagnet dynamic response time calculation from the model point, analyzedquantitatively the affection of the action of electromagnet and iron absorption of swing arm.Thirdly, Using Pro/E software to redesign cam on the basis of heald selecting conjugatecam surveying and mapping, the curvature of the measuring cam and the redesigned wasanalyzed, while the kinematic of the composition of their respective heald selecting cammechanism was analyzed. By comparison of the curvature and the kinematics parameters, it isreceived that the curvature and the kinematics of the redesigned heald selecting cammechanism has been greatly improved. Then, putting forward method of high side lower generation to simplify heald selectingcam mechanism, the heald selecting system kinematics model was transformed into a planecombination mechanism of four bar linkage mechanism with the crank slide block mechanism.Based on the analytical method to establish the kinematics equation, prepared kinematicsequations block diagram of heald selecting system. It is easy to use Matlab software to quicklycalculate the kinematics parameters of each member in heald selecting system at any locationvalue when the spindle is constant.Finally, through the analysis of the principle of the heald selecting control mechanism,calculating iron absorption maximum swing angle of rocker arm based on the selected cammovement law of cam follower. Equations were established on the basis of rotating principle.It was received that the initial point coordinates, the termination point coordinates andmovement trajectory equations of the iron absorption swing arm and the signal swing arm,then drew the synthetic trajectory map using Matlab software. The coordinates of signal swingarm groove curve in the two limit position of moving process were determined. The key partof the signal swing arm groove curve was designed.
