Nowadays, the economy and society develops so fast, the level of urbanization hasimproved rapidly, the standard of residents’ income and consumption has increased dayby day, along with which the amount of municipal solid waste generation increasedrapidly. There are some drawbacks which are unable to overcome in traditional wastedisposal methods, such as the loss and waste of resources, the serious environmentalpollution and the harm of residents’ health. In order to achieve resource, reduction, andinnocuity in the process of waste treatment and disposal, the prerequisite and key ispre-separation technology which is perfect and reliable. For the plastic and paper whichhas the most difficulty and the least effect in separation, the most effective way ishorizontal airflow separation. According to the continuity characteristic that wastecomponents have in a macro view in separation field, the thesis adopts the dynamicsprinciple system of gas-solid multiphase flow to make a study about state and variationrules on paper and plastic separation in the field, to explore reasonable processparameters which are suitable for paper and plastic sorting of cold and dry area ofmunicipal solid waste. Therefore it can provide reference and technical support to theproduction of waste treatment plant and the development of horizontal flow sorters. Themain contents of the thesis are as following:Based on the horizontal airflow sorting principle, the thesis adopts theoreticalderivation method to make a research and analysis on waste components’ force situationin the separation field. According to computational fluid dynamics theory and thecontinuity characteristic that waste components have in a macro view in separation field,the thesis uses Euler-Euler method to build a mathematical model of gas-solidmultiphase flow which is based on the Euler.The thesis systematically analyzes factors which influence the paper and plasticseparation effects, such as the airflow, materials and equipment process parameters, etc.It also analyzes the physical characteristics of municipal solid wastes of cold and dry areaand selects the typical samples as the research object and make a quantitative treatmenton the samples’ physical properties.Using Fluent software and adopting SIMPLEC method in the pressure-velocitycoupling algorithm to make a numerical modeling on gas-solid multiphase flow of municipal solid waste horizontal air flow field based on the Euler model. Afterconducting a comparative analysis of the pressure and speed distribution, the changes ofair velocityv yalong the X-axis and the velocity vector of waste particles with differentdensities and grain diameters, which are in different inlet flow angles and at differentspeed in separation field, we could draw a conclusion as follows: when the speed of windis12~14m/s and the angle of air inlet is15°~20°the paper and plastic separation of thewaste in arid seasons(moisture content is around30%) can get a better effect; and whenthe speed of wind is14~16m/s and the angle of air inlet is15°~20°the paper andplastic separation of the waste in snow and rain season(moisture content is around50%)can get better effect.
