Gas hydrate is a new energy which attracts the attention of countries all over the world.The natural gas hydrate (NGH) research at home and abroad mainly focuses on the indoorphysical properties test and the development and simulation experiment devices which issignificant for the development of NGH research becoming more and more extensive anddeep.The paper analyzes and evaluates the existing experimental apparatus and the relatedtesting technology of NGH based on the latest materials and the technologies, such asmachinery, electronics, information and sensors. Studies show that the existing NGH miningmethods can be divided into two types. One is the traditional mining method including thedepressurization method, thermal excitation method and chemical injection method. And theother is the new mining method which contains the CO2replacement method, fracturingmining method, solid mining method and hybrid mining method. A comprehensive evaluationis done by this paper based on the materials of NGH development and simulation experimentdevices using different mining methods and experiment techniques.An optimized design of mining simulation experiment device of NGH is proposed basedon its characteristics and development trend, which can be used as an important reference forNGH subject research and laboratory construction. A set of CO2replacement simulationexperiment device of NGH is designed. And its module structure and experimental procedureare analyzed in detail. The device can simulate the experiments of CO2gas, liquid andemulsified liquid displacement reaction, and also can do a detailed and comprehensiveexperimental research on strengthening the replacement mining method of CO2emulsionreplacement, which can provide the theoretical data for the practical application.This paper can be seen as a basis for the deeply development of the research of NGH subjects, instrument design and simulation laboratory construction, which can promote thedevelopment of NGH testing technology at home. Therefore, the research on the developmentof NGH simulation equipment not only has an important scientific value, but also has animportant engineering application value.
