The synthesis of polymer/inorganic hybrid material has the goal of obtaining anew composite material having synergetic or complementary behaviors between thepolymer and inorganic material. Due to these properties it has been studiedextensively for making optical and electronic devices like solar cells. This paperaimed at preparation PAOT/ZnS and PAOT/CuInS2composite material with highthermal stability and excellent optical performance and workability.First of all, synthesized the PAOT by the one-step chemical oxidation methodwith aniline (ANI) and o-toluidine (OT), successfully introduced-CH3group to themacromolecular chains, obtained the best monomer molar ratio between aniline ando-toluidine is85:15. Under this condition, the weight loss of PAOT at750℃is40.79%, the maximum solubility of PAOT is1.21mg/mL, the conductivity of PAOT is2.126(cm)-1, the band gap of PAOT is3.53eV,2.37eV,1.32eV. This indicates thatwith the addition of15mol%o-toluidine, effectively preventing the substitutedreactions, promoting copolymerization process, increasing the molecular weight, butcontinue increasing the content of o-toluidine, inductive effect of methyl obviously,resulting uneven density distribution of electron cloud, therefore, the degree ofconjugation dropped significantly.Secondly, synthesized spheroidal ZnS crystal vis hydrothermal method, andprepared PAOT/ZnS composites by in situ polymerization with aniline and o-toluidinemonomer, obtained the best mass ratio between monomer and ZnS is60:40. Underthis condition, the weight loss of PAOT/ZnS composite at750℃is23.54%, with astrong absorption in the ultraviolet region, the maximum absorbance is0.46, the bandgap is3.42eV. This indicates that with40wt%ZnS join induced monomerpolymerization around the surface of the spheroidal particle. As the amount of ZnSincreasing, the steric hindrance obstruct the polymerization process obviously. Inaddition, there is neither chemical bonding between PAOT and ZnS, nor new phaseproduce.By the last, synthesized flaky CuInS2crystals vis solvothermal method, andprepared PAOT/CuInS2composites by in situ polymerization with aniline, o-toluidinemonomer, obtained the best mass ratio between monomer and CuInS2is70:30. Underthis condition, the weight of PAOT/ZnS loss at750℃is27.08%, with a strongabsorption in the visible region, the maximum absorbance is0.78, the band gap is1.36eV. This indicates that CuInS2acts as a hard template during polymerization process, and induced the monomer growth along the surface of the platelet, as thecontent of CuInS2increasing over30%, PAOT start to peeling from the flaky crystal,broken into small blocks, and the steric hindrance significantly obstruct the formationof PAOT macromolecular chains.
