Research Of Relational Model For Moulded Bra Cup Design

In recent years, with women’s increasing demand for fit and comfort and the strengthening of the People-oriented concept, Moulded Bra is well accepted because of its beautiful modeling and better support to the breast. However, there are many problems in the processing of bra cup’s design and Production, which seriously affected the design of moulded bra cup efficiency and quality. These problems mainly summarized as, the designers too rely on subjective experience in the design process and lack analyzing on chest form of the target group, which makes many iterations of changes to the cup design and reduces the design efficiency. Meanwhile, poor communication among the bra designer and modeling software operator is another problem, which leads to the information loss and deformation of the design concept. When designing the bra, the enterprises do not extract, classify and grade the universal and common features which lead to a lot of repetitive work.In order to solve the problem in the underwear enterprises, reduce the repetitive work and improve the bra design efficiency, in this paper, the relation model of Moulded Bra cup was studied and a new moulded bra cup design method based on relation model is proposed. This thesis introduces the feature of Moulded Bra cup modeling design, classify and grade the universal and commom design element, establish the relation model of the mouled bra cup design and finally realize the automatic generation process of the mouled bra cup.Through the enterprise practice research, we found the problem which existed in the processing of bra cup’s design and production. Meanwhile we put forward the research purpose and make the direction of the research clear. In this paper, comparative analysis between female breast form and shape characteristics of the moulded bra cup are made and make the geometric elements of the bra cup model, constrained relationship between the geometric element clear, have a good knowledge of the relation model’s components. Through analyzing the modeling design characteristic of the moulded bra cup, we can find that it’s necessary to grade the process of the bra cup design. What’s more, the paper discusses the theory basis of the grading the design process, the feature of the bra cup, the relationship among the graded cup and the problem that the relation model can solve, which lay a foundation for building the relation model. Define the relation model of mouled bra cup, analyze the constrained relationship among the geometric elements of the bra cup model, established the relation model of the primary cup, the secondary cup and the tertiary cup. According to the relational model, moulded bra cup modeling design system interface was set up based on UG second development tool, and the automatic generation process of the primary cup, the secondary cup and the tertiary cup.The result of the research is a moulded bra cup design module based on UG platform. It realize the automatic generation process of the moulded bra cup based on relational model, which provides a standardized, quantitative and efficient moulded bra cup design method for underwear enterprises, improve the design efficiency of the bra cup design. What’s more, we make the knowledge be shared and reused.
