The technology of fully-mechanized top coal caving still has many unsolved problems,including degree of coal-rock mass crushing seriously, much left coal, serious air leakage, thatincrease the coal spontaneous combustion dangerous degree in full-mechanized cavinggoaf.Many mines in Hua-ting mining area adopts comprehensive mechanized caving miningtechnology. The investment of equipment is huge, and concentration of mine production ishighly centralized. In the event of coal spontaneous combustion, it will seriously affect theproduction of mine, and cause heavy economic losses.This paper, taking the goaf of fully-mechanized top coal caving in Chen Jia-gou coalmine of Hua-ting mining area as research object, has used the combining methods ofexperimental research, field observations, theoretical analysis and numerical simulation tostudy and analyze the properties and fatalness of left coal spontaneous combustion, and theenvironmental characteristics and “three-zones” of goaf, laying a foundation for safe andefficient production in working face. First of all, it has used coal spontaneous combustionexperiment to determine the rate of oxygen consumption, intensity of exothermic,flammability limit parameters and shortest combustion cycle of Chen Jia-gou coal sample;Secondly, it has researched the environment characteristic of goaf through field observationand fuzzy clustering method and got the internal environment characteristic of goaf and thedistribution of “three-zones”, this paper furtherly has simulated the influence of air flow to thescope of spontaneous combustion three zones in goaf by using fluent software, and determinethe law of change of the “three zones” scope under the different quantity of air. finally, it hasused the unknown measure theory to calculate coal spontaneous combustion danger level ofleft coal in goaf and got the rating of goaf spontaneous combustion fire danger is class Ⅲ, which is consistent with real situation,at the same time, it also has used Matlab GUI to writeit into the visual evaluation program and made the evaluation process more convenient andquick. Based on the study of goaf coal spontaneous combustion characteristics, it has moreprecisely determined the goaf spontaneous combustion dangerous area, and has been clearabout the fire danger rating of goaf spontaneous combustion in Chen Jia-gou coal mine. It hasimportant significance for effectively controlling the occurrence of left coal spontaneouscombustion in goaf, putting an end to the resulting fire accident, and yielding the greatestsafety and economic returns on using of limited fire-fighting resources (people, money,materials).
