With the development of computer technology and application, the main tendency ofdevelopment for the modern numerical control machine is intelligent and network. It isan new challenge and higher requirement to professional talent training in the traditionalteaching, especial for majors of mechanism, machine design, mechanotronics and others.The students must operation the actual equipment to excercise the technology ofnumerical control programming. It need a lot of money to buy equipment, and theexcercise also take up the time of equipment processing. Besides, it is easy to cause theequipment damage. In recent years the presence number control equipments focus to thesingle teaching function, and it can’t meet the requirements to modern numerical controlsystem of networked control and teaching.According to the shortcomings for the teaching of numerical control technology, wedesigned the network platform combining with the existing computer equipment oflaboratory, The numerical control teaching platform including network communicationsystem,3D modeling, trajectory simulation software, and multimedia teaching software,teaching help system and numerical control equipment which has the function of2Dmovement. This paper first introduced the two dimensional experimental design solutions,including the major controller, and stepper motor drive, the ball screw choice andelectrical connection; The second part introduces teaching communication networkstructure scheme selection and hardware connection, and we designed the serialinterface communication program based on the MSComm control of VB software. Thethird part introduces PC teaching software, including three parts: NC machiningsimulation modeling of CAXA series software, multimedia teaching software and teachinghelp system. Students can study3D modeling, trajectory simulation, G code editor, etc byusing CAXA series software and auxiliary teaching system. The teacher can implementinteractive teaching and analysis teaching statistics through multimedia teaching software.Finally we test the communication network and measured the precision of the numericalcontrol equipment transmission system.
