Fly ash microspheres is spherical particle, which is collected by the fly ashscreening separation processing that the coal fired power plant emissions of the soot.Fly ash microspheres have good physical and chemical properties and high addedvalue, thus gradually received extensive attention of scholars. In this paper, theexcellent performance of fly ash microspheres and wide applications field wasintroduced. Under the different technical means and technology method of fly ashmicrospheres, surface modification treatment of the surface modification effect of flyash modification was studied. The properties of surface modification fly ashmicrospheres, including size distribution, chemical composition and surfacemorphology of coating layer were characterized. Mixed fly ash modification ofsurface modification with coating in the certain proportion, then it is coated evenly incement sand base plate on the surface, imitated the wall environment testing.Testedthe temperature change of base plate in275W infrared lamp irradiation, it isconcluded that modified fly ash microspheres have thermal insulating properties.The fly ash microspheres for matrix, three kinds of technologys were used tomodify the surface of fly ash microspheres. Respectively it can form the fly ashmicrospheres-Ag composite particles, fly ash microspheres-TiO2composite particlesand fly ash microspheres-Ag and TiO2composite particles. Over the course of thestudy, the fly ash microspheres surface silver plating, cladding rutile type TiO2andsilver coated with TiO2composite layer process was explored. Using the method ofchemical plating for fly ash microspheres surface silver plating processing, the silverplated best process of fly ash microspheres surface was formed. Using the method ofchemical deposition for fly ash microspheres surface coated TiO2processing, thepreparation process of fly ash microspheres surface cladding rutile type TiO2wasexplored, get the transition temperature of the fly ash microspheres surface coatingTiO2from anatase to rutile type. This transition temperature is higher than the normalcondition, what maybe causes this phenomenon has been analysised in theory. The electroless plating method and chemical deposition method were combined, thepreparation process of fly ash microspheres surface coated Ag-TiO2was obtained.This kind of microspheres has a different crystal type transition temperature, whichcompared with fly ash microspheres surface cladding TiO2only. The reason areanalyzed in theory, and put forward the positive contribution significance of mixedAg with TiO2.Thermal insulation performance testing with surface modification fly ashmicrospheres shows that thermal insulating properties was improve. Compared with theblank base plate, fly ash microspheres-Ag composite particles can reduce the24%temperature, fly ash microspheres-TiO2composite particles can reduce the27%temperature and fly ash microspheres-Ag and TiO2composite particles can reducethe28%. In the future, the new method need to be explored and extended itsapplication fields to make more contribution in the field of environmental protectionand energy saving.
