Underwater welding seam tracking can difficulty lies in identifying the locationof the weld, the traditional CCD vision sensors still exist many problems in the realapplications. Ultrasonic sensors due to in the face of the arc has its own uniqueadvantages, such as underwater interference will be used in the underwater weldingseam tracking has high scientific research value and practical significance. Subject isin ultrasonic sensors on the basis of the study of underwater welding seam tracking.This article first tells the story of a self study design of underwater welding seamtracking system hardware platform. Platform are subsystems of signal acquisitionsystem, welding and motion control of three parts. Secondly according to thetechnical characteristics of the underwater ultrasonic sensor and tracking when therange of needs, through continuous experiment study design a set of underwaterultrasonic ranging system based on signal analysis as the foundation. Finally using avariety of methods for the measurement data is analyzed to realize underwater forimplementing underwater seam tracking precision is automatic control.In the distance measuring system by using the method of combining hardwareand software realization of signal filtering and achieve precise ranging. The wholeprocess of using MATLAB to the transmission and echo signal effective operationdetermines the signal transit time, distance measurement for underwater object. Theresults show that the signal after filtering processing to the original signal is containedin the noise and reverberation signal have been effectively suppressed, a large numberof experiments show that using wavelet analysis ranging method between measuredvalue and the actual value of the error can be within1mm. System at the same timeVISUALC++6.0as development tools for software development, in a multitaskingoperating system designed on the basis of a set of interface with complete function ofapplication software.On underwater ultrasonic sensor experimental platform of a large number ofexperimental verification. Proved that ultrasonic sensor of underwater weldingranging system can realize the precision in the moving and static state of ultrasonicdistance measurement, such as the underwater welding process accurately provides atheoretical basis for seam tracking. Through to the v-shaped groove test automation experiment proved that the seam tracking control is achievable.
