CO2gas shielded arc welding is a cheap and efficient welding method which iswidely applied in the field of welding. Firstly, the paper introduces the developmenthistory of CO2gas shielded arc welding, and made in the development of the statusquo at home and abroad, and then made a brief description of the main researchcontent of the paper. In order to get a better studying and designing on CO2gasshielded welding power, established the model of the CO2gas welding arc lengthmodel, the model of non-linear loads and the power–load model based onMATLAB/simulink simulation model. In order to achieving the full digitization ofthe CO2gas shielded welding, the paper made a three-pronged analysis of thedigitization of the srouce circuit, the digitization of control circuit and the digitizationof the interactive interface on the CO2gas shielded welding machine. The digital ofthe source circuit is designed with a full-bridge inverter topology, and made a detailedanalysis and parameter calculation on the main component IGBT selection andhigh-frequency transformer designing. In the design of the control circuit digital, useddigital signal processor DSP plus ARM core MCU dual-processor mode, andintroduced both of the software and hardware’s design and implementation. In thedesign of the man-machine interface, mainly introduced the hardware design and thesoftware programming of the matrix keyboard and the digital tube.In the design of the main control system of the welding power source, the papermade a detailed analysis of the short circuit transfer welding process and the changesof the arc energy and status during the process, analyzed the mechanism of the arcspatter generation and the control strategy of inhibition of the welding spatter.Proposed a double-loop control system architecture with a outer loop based PI voltagecontrol and inner current loop PI algorithm based neural network. From a certainextent, the combination of neural algorithm with the traditional PI algorithm toovercome the nonlinearity and strong time-varying characteristics of the arc load.Through the experiment, the various components of welder analysis confirmedthe feasibility and efficacy of the various modules, and concluded that the presentsystem has strong scalability. Through the actual welding operation, obtained thewelding current and voltage waveform, and the following conclusions: the design ofthe CO2gas shielded welding machine in this paper, has the welding spattersignificantly reduced, the arc stable combustion and good welding effect.
