A large number of wire sawing waste is produced by cutting crystalline siliconrods into silicon wafer. The major in ingredients are Si70%~75%, SiC20%~25%,and a small amount of iron filings. The wire sawing waste is stacked and buried becauseof it is difficult to further separation or not taking full utilization, which result inwasting resources and polluting the environment. So it is necessary to research todevelop new solutions. Ferrosilicon and SiC are smelted in well type resistance furnaceand simulation of electric arc furnace, and the site industrial test is carried out. Thefeasibility of wire sawing waste used as Metallurgical Auxiliary is explored. The useeffect and use method of deoxidizing agent, coating agent and compound and Theirimpact on the quality of molten steel are experimented. Provide technical support forthe realization of the real industrial application. The institute’s main research results areas follows:Smelting by theoretical calculation and experimental results show that, inguarantee under the condition of smelting temperature is reached, the silicon wafercutting waste materials with a certain amount of carbon powder and iron raw materialcan be used for deoxidization smelting low grades ferrosilicon and silicon carbide.Simulation experiments need to mix raw materials as much as possible, even makeresponse to fully, because in the process of dust is bigger, affect the environment andthe yield, so in industrial production have to pressure the ball.After pressure ball can be used as a raw material of steel deoxidizing agent andcompound. On the same deoxidization effect,1.5tons of cutting waste, equivalent to1tonne of ferrosilicon deoxidization effect. Using the metallurgical waste products, allkinds of performance meet the requirements, but also played a very good economicbenefits. Such raw materials containing Si and SiC heating situations will be more focused and rapidly, and also have the function of the heating agent, reduces the energyconsumption.Prevent the oxidation of the molten steel can be used as an induction furnacesmelting of cover agent, silicon cutting waste density is much lighter than steel, powderfloating in the molten steel surface, can isolate air to prevent the molten steel byoxidation, increase the metal yield. Or to join in cutting waste, CaO, MgO style, Al2O3and latent solvent, binder, ball mill grinder, ball, microwave drying to water <0.5%,namely get tundish induction furnace or ladle cover agent.
