The rubber material can withstand very large strain without permanent deformation ordamage and its performance of elasticity,softness,abrasion resistance, insulatingproperties,barrier properties are very excellent, which makes it can be well used in manysituation. When most rubber materials used in products, they must be modified bychemical or physical methods to meet modern engineering performance such as wearresistance, strength, plasticity and anti-aging. Many studies at home and abroad haveshown that when rare earth is filled to the rubber, it can improve the using performanceand crafts performance of rubber material more or less. According to the test to study themechanical properties and fatigue properties of vulcanized natural rubber filled withcerium, which has a great significance to the utilization of high value-added of rare earthand the superiority from resources advantages into economic advantages in InnerMongolia.The article studies the impact of rare earth cerium oxide on the uniaxial ratchettingbehaviour and fatigue properties of vulcanized natural rubber, including the following:The uniaxial ratchetting behaviour of the cerium oxide filled vulcanized NR is studiedby the cyclic asymmetric stress-controlled experiments at room temperature. The effects ofmean stress, stress amplitude, loading history and stress rate on the ratchetting strain arediscussed. The data show that: the cerium oxide filled vulcanized natural rubber exhibitratchetting behaviour obviously under the cycle asymmetric loads, and load stressamplitude, mean stress, stress history, stress loading rate and stress loading rate historyhave important impacts on the ratchetting behavior of cerium oxide filled vulcanizednatural rubber.Introduce several general models which can describe the ratchetting strain evolutionof material, and then analyze the constitutive model or ratchetting strain prediction modelabove according to the ratchetting test data of cerium oxide filled vulcanized natural rubber.As a result, we raise a constitutive model that can predict the evolution of ratchetting strainof rubber material.Study the uniaxial cyclic characteristics of cerium oxide filled vulcanized naturalrubber, and then study the fatigue behavior of seven different type cerium oxide vulcanizednatural rubber. To analyze the effects of cerium oxide filler type and number of copies on the fatigue properties of vulcanized natural rubber by comparing the fatigue life of sevenkinds of rubber material at same strain amplitude and different strain amplitudes.
