Super air separation system make the disadvantage such as covering huge area, bigbed thickness, big bed layer resistance etc. of traditional adsorber more and more serious.Based on this problem, He Guogeng etc. developed a new type adsorber on the basis ofthe traditional vertical radial flow adsorber.Adsorber of the patent type is all unknown. According to the design experience ofthe other form adsorber, several design principle for the patent type adsorber isdeveloped. With these design principle, a C language programming is used to calculateits structure. In addition the Fluent software is used to optimize the structure got from theC program. Compared to the traditional radial flow adsorber, the optimized patent typeadsorber can reduce the volume by20%, the pressure drop of the adsorbent bed by50%,which can reduce the exhaust pressure of the air compressor. According to the Fluentsoftware simulation result, the optimized structure of patent type adsorber can obtain agood uniformity.Adsorption property is very important for adsorber. With the ideal gas assumptionsetc., partial differential equations based on cylindrical coordinates were established. In theequations, the axial heat diffusion coefficient, the axial mass diffusion coefficient etc. inthe heat and mass transfer process were considered. The analysis result of the patent typeradial flow adsorber used Modelica language in MWorks shows that the adsorption andregeneration property of patent type radial adsorber is in accordance with the generalrule of adsorber, which suggests the simulation results is reasonable. The contrast ofgeneral structure and patent structure form of the radial flow adsorber simulation resultsshow that the adsorption property of the patent structure increased by15%, whichsuggests that patent type adsorber c also has the advantage on adsorption.By changing the importing temperature and air flux, result that these parameterschanging will have important influence on adsorption property was found, therefore hugecondition changing is very unfavorable for adsorber.
