There has been increasing interest on the preparation of conducting polymer and conductingpolymer matrix composite due to their potential applications in solar cells, catalysis, surfaceenhance Raman scattering (SERS), and so forth. Among various conducting polymer matrixcomposites, conducting polymer-noble metal (gold, silver, palladium) composite has attractedconsiderable attention because it combines excellent environmental stability, good redox propertiesof conducting polymers and the unique optical, catalytic and electrochemical properties of noblemetal nanoparticles. Polypyrrole as a kind of highly representative conducting polymer was electedin this thesis. By one-step method, PPy-Au nanocomposites, PPy-Pd nanocomposites and PPy-Agnanocomposites were fabricated and characterized. Details of the research as follows:Monodisperse silica microspheres were modified using3-(trimethoxysilyl)propylmethacrylate(MPS) to introduce reactive vinyl groups on the surface of silica.4-Vinylpyridine monomer waspolymerized on the surface of MPS-modified silica by distillation precipitation polymerization toobtain silica@Poly(4-vinylpyridine)(SiO2@P4VP) functional microspheres. The pyridine groupsof P4VP chain could coordinate with PdCl2or HAuCl4to form coordination complexes, whichcould act as an oxidant for pyrrole and at the same time noble metal precursor ions were reduced tonoble metal simple substance. By one-step method, polypyrrole and Pd or Au nanoparticles wereformed on the surfaces of SiO2@P4VP microspheres simultaneously.The poly(4-vinylpyridine)(P4VP) nanofibers were prepared by the electrospinningtechnology. AuCl4-ions could be absorbed to the protonated pyridine rings of P4VP throughelectrostatic interactions, HAuCl4/P4VP composite nanofibers were obtained. Polypyrrole (PPy)and Au nanoparticles were obtained simultaneously on the HAuCl4/P4VP composite nanofibers bya vapor deposition polymerization of pyrrole. By one-step method, PPy-Au nanocomposites wereobtained.Functional polystyrene microspheres were used as templates to absorb nobel metal precursorions through electrostatic interactions between functional groups and noble metal precursor ions.Noble metal precursor ions could act as an oxidant for pyrrole and at the same time noble metalprecursor ions were reduced to noble metal simple substance. By one-step method, polypyrrole (PPy) and noble metal nanoparticles were obtained simultaneously on the surface of polystyrenemicrospheres.
