This article is based on the30MW rectangular arc furnace electrode control system oftitanium company as the background, design of rectangular arc furnace electrode controlsystem. Currently used for metal smelting arc furnace are mostly circular three electrodeelectric arc furnace, the circular arc furnace electrode control methods are more and moremature. Rectangular electric arc furnace as the name implies, it’s shape like a rectangle, havesix electrodes, it’s each pair of electrodes are respectively connected with the single phase ofthree phase transformer, are arranged in a line, it can be concluded that the rectangularelectric arc furnace with three electrodes is different from the circular arc furnace. Thisstructure is which mainly used for smelting copper and titanium slag. As this is the firstapplication of the titanium slag smelting six electrode rectangular electric arc furnace. So inactual application, we needs to be combined with the three electrode circular arc furnaceelectrode control method, carry on the thorough research and analysis.The past for electric arc furnace electrode control system mostly adopted PID control,but this method is hard to meet the need of real control performance requirements. This paperanalyzes the hydraulic system and AC arc model and studied PID control algorithm, MRACalgorithm, PID control which based on intelligent control algorithm, the various controlmethod simulated by MATLAB and Verify its feasibility. MRAC is a very good solution tosystems with slow time-varying problem, but MRAC is only used in linear time-varyingsystem, so it needs to join other means to achieve the control of nonlinear time varyingsystems. The neural network control does not depend on the characteristics of the controlledobject, and this control method which based on the neural network setting PID parameters,combining with the neural network and PID performance, can be very good to solve thenonlinear and time-varying problem.Through the simulation of system and feasibility of practical application,this paperadopts a simple and practical control method, this paper adopts a simple and practical controlmethod, the rectangular electric arc furnace electrode control system, can be detected by thearc current, arc voltage, temperature and other parameters to PID parameters. The parametersetting is get in debugging process of summing up, we can see that this method of control isvery practical. The electrode control system employs a variable parameter PID control method,and the parameters setting is based on arc current size. In this paper,the authordetailed chose the hardware type and design the hardware network structure,program of thePLC,monitoring picture of the electrode control system. And debug the electrode variableparameter PID control system. In the process of debugging, we match the PID parameters indifferent current situations. Through many tests and summed up for each of the currentconditions of PID parameters, as a variable parameter of regulator parameters matching.Through the system commissioning results can be seen, when the PID regulation time, arccurrent and voltage is instable, it is difficult to stabilize, and often break arc. The variableparameter PID control, arc current is stable, and has a better effect.
