The reverse microemulsion was used as medium for synthesized cerium oxidenanoparticles, various sizes of cerium oxide nanoparticles have been synyhesizedrespecyively by means of microemulsion method and microemulsion-assistedsolthermal method, and the formation mechanisms of different sizes particles are alsodiscussed. On this basis, the obtained cerium oxide nanoparticles were applied indyeing polyester, and the effect of the content of CeO2nanoparticles on the dyeingrate were studied.1.Precursors of CeO2were prepared in W/O reverse microemulsion composed ofcetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), n-butanol, n-octane, Ce(NO3)3aqueoussolution(ammonia) by inverse microemulsion method, and the CeO2nanoparticleswere then prepared by calcining the precursors. The calcination temperature andchemical decomposition process of the precursors of CeO2and the size of CeO2nanoparticles was discussed by thermogravimetry (TG-DTG) analysis and X-raypowder diffraction (XRD). Meanwhile, the reasons why the formation of various sizesof nanoparticles under different calcination temperature were analyzed. Possibleformation mechanisms of the size of nanoparticles are proposed and discussed.2.The CeO2nanoparticles were prepared in W/O reverse microemulsioncomposed of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), n-butanol, n-octane,Ce(NO3)3aqueous solution(ammonia) by microemulsion-assisted solvothermalmethod. The crystal shape, morphologies and size of CeO2nanoparticles werecharacterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope(TEM),thermal analysis (TG-DTG). The reasons why the formation of various sizesof nanoparticles under various chemical reaction temperature were analyzed. At thesame time, the dispersion of CeO2nanoparticles under different mass ratio ofn-butanol and n-octane are also disscessed.3. On the basis of synthesizing CeO2nanoparticles, the polyurethane coating wasattached to polyester surface. And make CeO2nanoparticles combine withpolyurethane coating, and then dyeing polyester, the effect of the content of CeO2nanoparticles on the dyeing rate were studied. Results showed that with the increase of the content of nanometer CeO2, the dyeing rate were increased, then it reducedgradually after reach a extreme point.
