In this study the acetone and butanol production by fermentation using glucose mother liquor is described.The obejective of this study is to optimize the fermentation conditions and medium composition and to achieve industrial scale production finally. The content of this study includes experiments on medium composition, the optimal fermentation temperature, strains inoculation, substrate concentrations.A polit scale acetone-butanol fermentation is carried out to get data of the solvent yield.The content is following:(1)The conditions for acetone and butanol production by fermentation using glucose mother liquor as raw material is following:fermentation temperature.37℃, fermentation period,72h-96h,sugar concentration6g/dL,the highest production of acetone can reach0.35g-0.4g, alcohol production can reach0.15g-0.20g, butanol production can reach1.3g-1.5g per100mL broths.The total solvent recovery was30%-35%based on dry substance of glucose mother liquor.The ratio of acetone alcohol and butanol was7:2:1.(2)The optimal medium:dipotassium hydrogen phosphate0.6g/L, potassium dihydrogen phosphate0.6g/L, magnesium sulfate0.2g/L, manganese sulfate0.1g/L, sodium acetate,4.0g/L, molasses6.0g/L, the corn slurry11g/L,glucose mother liquor6.0g/dL (dry basis).(3) Feeding medium can enhance the solvent recovery by3%-4%compared with the batch fermentation.(4) Acetone and butanol fermentation using glucose mother liquor which was one of byproducts in corn wet milling, the solvent recovery can be enhanced by5%-10%compared with traditional fermentation using corn powder as raw material. Another superiority was that there was few insoluble substance in the broth and then could decrease the burden on of flirtation and rectification.
