The residual Pharmaceutically active compounds (PhACs) in effluent of wastewater treatment plants(WWTP) may enter into the enviroment, this maybe occurpotential danger to human health and ecological environment. So there was animportant practical significance to study on migration and transformation of PhACs inwastewater treatment process. The kinetics of hydrolysis, photolysis, sludge adsorption,biodegradability and concentration of9PhACs, which included5fluoroquinolone(fleroxacin, perfloxacin, enoxacin, norfloxacin, lomefloxacin),3antihypertensive(reserpine, nifedipine, nitrendipine) and1lipid-lowering (gemfibrozil), were studiedcarefully.The method to respectively determine the5fluoroquinolones and4step-downlipid-lowering drugs at the same time in the WWTP samples using solid phaseextraction-high performance liquid chromatography was developed. The concentrationand distribution of9PhACs in Handan A and B WWTPs were studied by this method.The concentrations and removals on average of9PhACs in A-WWTP’s influent andeffluent were0.961μg/L~19.9μg/L, n.d.~1.60μg/L and38.2%~99.3%respectively.Enter a daily average total9PhACs and discharged A-WWTP were2423.496g and235.303g respectively. The concentrations and removals on average of9PhACs inB-WWTP’s influent and effluent were0.267μg/L~28.2μg/L, n.d.~1.46μg/L and43.0%~100%respectively. And the total increased amount of9PhACs was4357.327gper day,492.946g discharged.While the9PhACs residual contents in sludge of A and BWWTPs were0.377μg/g~4.33μg/g and0.615μg/g~4.85μg/g respectively.Base on kinetics and biodegradability of9PhACs, it was found that thefluoroquinolone and nitrendipine were almost non-hydrolysis, while the hydrolysis ofreserpine, nifedipine and gemfibrozil follow the first-order reaction kineticsequation.And the9PhACs were all photolysis degraded in light conditions. The targetsubstances adsorption on activated and inactivated sludge were accorded with Langmuirand Freundlich equation well, and the values of Gibbs free energy function less than20KJ/mol. So it was illustrated that the sludge adsorption of PhACs was mainlyphysical adsorption process. By simulating biological degradation test, found that thebiodegradation was the principle way of removing target substances.
