Aluminum die casting has good mechanical properties, low surface roughness, highdimensional accuracy, it is widely used in automobiles, motorcycles, electroniccommunication equipment and household appliances and machinery industry. Disk parts ofthe irreplaceable role in the machinery industry, most disk parts, although the structure isrelatively simple, but its uneven wall thickness, a hole in the rib, the use of traditionalcasting method to produce a certain degree of difficulty. The quality of the disc-type diecasting, a direct impact on the operating condition of the machine. Therefore, the use ofdie-casting process simulation software of its casting process may produce defectsprediction analysis, to prevent or reduce the occurrence of defects.In this paper, the A356polishing discs as the object of study, combined with the diskparts defects in the casting process, the use of casting process simulation software theProCAST its filling process and solidification process of numerical simulation Analysis.First of all, through the polishing discs structural design and size of the design, tomeet the requirements; die-casting die casting system (inside the gate, sprue, runner, therow overflow system), the parting surface, the overall design. Using SolidWorks softwarepolishing discs and die-casting solid modeling.Secondly, the use of casting process simulation software ProCAST polishing discs ofdifferent die-casting process scheme for the model import, meshing, process parametersettings and numerical simulations. Detailed analysis of each process filling process andsolidification process, and shrinkage shrinkage, wrapped gas and other defects predictedresults contrast determine the optimal casting process parameters.Again, the optimal casting process parameters derived actual production verification.Through the observation of the polishing disc products, the actual production situation isbasically consistent with the simulation results verify the correctness of numericalsimulation. Finally, modification of the die-casting mold, will throw a longitudinal sectional viewof the disc deformation amount control within the range used in disc-type partsBy filling process and solidification process of polishing discs numerical simulationanalysis and actual production to determine a reasonable casting process of polishing discprogram, shorten the disk parts trial period, and increased its pass rate.
