A plenty of general parts in mold designing are often reused during the developing and designing of the die casting mould product devlopment. These general parts are often designed repeatedly every time. So it has a negative impact on the efficiency of design. It is expected that a dedicated parts database can be set up. We can get the general parts at any time when we need them so that wen can save a lot of time and resources,improve the efficiency of the design and make them more accurately. A sort of software system can help us to solve these problems and complete the design of parameterization and general spare parts database.UG NX(formerly name: :Unigraphics) software provides a kind of scheme of building standard spare parts database for us in the enterprise. The paper focuses on the studying and practicing some ways of building parts database. Such as using the "UG/Open GRIP " method to establish model, the use of "UG/Open MenuScript " menu to create a ne w user menu bar, and so on, ha s realized with parameter based on U G secondary development of the establishment of the die-casting die standard parts library.UG NX has good openness, the user can be secondary development function of UG NX more in-depth study, the software of the secondary development function combined with the design of the actual need, to simplify the complicated mould structure, to all sorts of general parts parameterized, rapid modeling.ProCAST mould flow analysis software is a kind of digital simulation analysis software developed by American ESI company,which has a variety of importing and exporting data interface which is convenient for the connection of data among the work. ProCAST covered the high pressure casting, the differential pressure casting, low pressure casting, semi-solid casting process simulation analysis, etc.Analyses and optimizes the data at the beginning of the mould design for sprue design and cooling system design and so on, and it concludes the ideal solution. The rationalization improvement is given in the casting process and technology is optimized.
