In this research, graphene oxide(GO) was synthesized using Hummer’ method,and then was modified to form interpenetrating network structure polymer by epoxyresin, which has high strength and heat resistance. The interpenetrating networkstructure polymer was used as a matrix phase. And GO was added as reinforcedmaterials into it to prepare polyurethane/epoxy IPN GO composite materials by castmolding process(PU/EP IPN-GO composite materials).Infrared spectrum was used to characterize the structure of GO and graphene, theresult shows that there are-OH,-COOH,-C=O, C-O and other functional groups onGO. The graphene of using hydrazine hydrate reduction, C=C absorption peak wasappeared near the1620cm-1.Through the laser particle size analysis, the particle size ofGO was between2~40microns.Through the scanning electron microscope(SEM) analysis,GO was composed of random aggregation of fold chips; In addition, the existence of thefold edge shows that GO is flexible.The influence factors of GO synthesis: on the one handis the effect of centrifuge speed; On the other hand is the influence of the temperature.This topic of PU/EP IPN-GO composite materials was researched as thefollows:Thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) was used to analyze thermal stability ofPU/EP IPN-GO composite materials. The research shows that PU/EP IPN-GOcomposites have increased more significantly than PU/EP IPN composites, with theincrease of GO content in PU/EP IPN-GO composites,the overall trend of thei nitialdecomposition temperature is first increased then decreased.Curing properties ofPU/EP IPN-GO composite materials were characterized by differential scanningcalorimetry (DSC), which shows that Tp and Tf were increased with Ti reducing,for GObeing added.Dynamic thermomechanical analysis (DMA) was used to detect the glasstransition temperature.The research shows that the PU/EP IPN-GO composites lossfactor was increased significantly compared with pure PU/EP IPN composites.Withthe increase of GO content,the glass transition temperature(Tg) of PU/EP IPN-GOcomposite material was downward trend.storage modulus of PU/EP IPN compositesand PU/EP IPN-GO composites was decreased with the rise of temperature. Tensile testing machine was used to test the mechanical properties of PU/EPIPN-GO composite materials with different GO content. The results show that, withthe increase of the content of GO,the overall trend of tensile strength of compositeswas first increased and then decreased,while the elongation was no changeregularly;with the increase of the content of GO,the overall trend of shaw hardness ofPU/EP IPN-GO composites was first increased then decreased.Friction and wear machine was used to test the wear resistance of differentsamples.The results shows that,with the increase of the content of GO,the overall trend ofaverage friction coefficient and wear quantity of PU/EP IPN-GO composites was firstincreased then decreased,under the condition of dry sliding friction, load, speed andtime is definite. GO contents, the load, speed and center distance have great influenceon the wear resistance of PU/EP IPN-GO composite materials.PU/EP IPN-GO composites with different contents of GO were observed byscanning electron microscopy (SEM).The results show that the GO was evenlydispersed in the PU/EP composites matrix.When the magnification and the content ofGO were respectively5000and0.1%,GO in PU/EP IPN-GO composites takes onuniform wormlike linear grid pattern distribution.When GO content was1.5%, theSEM photo of different magnification shows that GO was almost flake distribution ofups and downs in PU/EP IPN matrix, and thin GO was transparent.
